Trex Enterprises Corporation is a technology company with business units in California, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Massachusetts.  Our Advanced Materials Group is a Hawaii based manufacturer of optical grade silicon carbide that is seeking an accomplished leader in the field of optical design and manufacture to lead our efforts to insert our material into various optical applications:  Military, commercial, and scientific.

Our operation in Lihue, Hawaii (Island of Kauai) is seeking a qualified US Citizen for the position of Director of Optical Programs.  While the position reports to the Vice President of Kauai Operations, the location of the position is negotiable.

Specific requirements include:

• PhD or master’s degree in Optics-related discipline;
• Demonstrated managerial skills and accomplishments;
• SiC and/or CVD experience;
• Track record of winning competitive research awards like BAA, SBIR, STTR, etc.;
• Track record of building business in a team environment;
• Well connected in one or more target industries, esp. DoD/NASA and related Primes;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
